“Ports have always played a major role in how the UK trades and Port of Sunderland is no exception. This new zone status can help unlock more of our export and import potential.”

Port of Sunderland
With recent investment totalling £1m and a reconnected rail link, Port of Sunderland offers a principal intermodal facility ready to service cargo handling, warehousing and distribution for a wide variety of clients.
The Port offers 3 kilometres of quay frontage, 24-hour access to berths minutes from open sea, and 18,000m2 of warehousing space.
Offshore and renewables is another market, and the port is a perfect location for project work including pre-development survey, assembly and installation activity. Lay-down areas provide capacity for manufacturing, far shore operations and maintenance opportunities.
In 2016 the Port won Enterprise Zone status for 8.3 hectares of development land, suitable for a range of activities.
